Touch A Truck
Trucks, equipment, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will gather at Jim Warren Park where children of all ages, with parent supervision, will be welcome to touch, climb-on, and explore these amazing pieces of equipment. Fire trucks, police cars, tractors, back hoes, tow trucks, and more! "No Horn Hour" will be from 5pm-6pm for the little ones!
Food will also be available for purchase from food trucks.

Join us at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm Pond for a morning of fishing! We encourage participants to bring their own fishing poles but will have cane poles available to use. Bait will be provided (worms). All children must be accompanied by parent or guardian at all times. Limit of 50 kids per session.

Yoga in the Park - International Day of Yoga
Yoga in the Park is a free, family friendly community event on Sunday, June 21 at Harlinsdale Farm on the lawn in front of the Hayes House. Part of International Day of Yoga, it brings the community together for movement, mindfulness, and connection, while supporting Ellie G’s Dream World, Franklin’s first inclusive playground at the Pearlene M. Bransford Complex.

Explore Franklin’s green spaces and discover the many different bird species that depend on them for food and shelter. We will search for the early migrants returning from the tropics, as well as the winter residents getting ready to leave for their northern nesting grounds. Appropriate for ages 12 and up.

Clean-Up Day: International Day of Action for Rivers
On Saturday, March 14, join the City of Franklin and Friends of Franklin Parks at Bicentennial Park from 9 AM to 12 PM for an invasive species removal event. Help protect our native plants and wildlife by lending a hand to remove invasive species and support the health of our park and river. This volunteer opportunity is open to anyone aged 15 and older.
Daniel Klatt Art Exhibit Reception at the Historic Hayes House
Friends of Franklin Parks invites you to experience the stunning works of Daniel Klatt, whose artwork captures the spirit, landscapes, and character of Franklin’s beloved parks. This free, public exhibit offers an opportunity to explore his vibrant and inspiring pieces in a welcoming setting. The gallery will also be open during Open House tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 2 PM, making it easy to visit and enjoy the artwork at your convenience. All are welcome to attend and experience this celebration of Franklin’s parks.
Urban Birding: Parks Department Event
Join the City of Franklin - Parks Department this Saturday, November 15, from 8:30 to 10:30am as they explore Franklin's green spaces and discover the diverse bird species that rely on these areas for food and shelter at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park (1368 Eastern Flank Circle).
We'll be searching for winter resident species that typically nest in the northern United States and Canada but spend their winters in Tennessee. We hope to spot Kinglets, Sparrows, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, and more!
The guided hikes, led by Susan Bradfield, will cover a variety of terrains, but they are generally easy to moderate in difficulty. This event is appropriate for ages 12 and up.

Silent Run Show Series Fall I & II
Two one-day MTHJA recognized hunter shows, following the same schedule of classes each day. From Walk-Trot Poles to a 2'6" Derby, there are many opportunities for local riders to participate in this schooling show.
All points are tracked throughout the series, with Year-End Series Ribbons & High Points Awards per division.
The 2025 Show Series will be held at Harlinsdale Farm, located just minutes from historic, downtown Franklin, TN.

City of Franklin Parks Presents July 4th
Friends of Franklin Parks is hosting the community in the Tractor Supply Co. Arena featuring live music by STARRIDER - A Tribute to the Music of Foreigner, food trucks, beer/wine tents, and a kid’s area featuring family games and crafts to enjoy leading up to the fireworks show. The Park opens at 5pm with music at 6pm and fireworks at approximately 9pm.

Grand Opening of The Carousel of Dreams
Celebrate the official opening of The Carousel of Dreams by Ken Means, operated by The Circle of Giving located at The Factory in Franklin.

The Factory at Franklin
The carousel opens to the public at 10:00 a.m., giving early visitors the chance to ride before the celebration officially begins at 1:00 p.m. Both the carousel and festivities will wrap up by 4:00 p.m., so be sure to join us for a day full of magic and memories!
Enjoy magical attractions including face painting, a balloon artist, beloved princesses and superheroes and interactive booths from our 2025 beneficiaries and The Factory at Franklin. Carousel merchandise will be available for purchase, including toddler, youth, and adult t-shirts, hats, stickers, and commemorative posters signed by Ken Means.
*Children under 42 inches must ride with an adult. The child rides free, but the accompanying adult must purchase a ticket.*
