RESTAURANTS, SUPPORTERS READYING FOR SEVENTH-ANNUAL “RAISE THE ROOFS” EVENT
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The seventh-annual Friends of Franklin Parks “Raise the Roofs” fundraiser is set for August 18th at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm, and the focus is back where it began: on the historic Main Barn.
More than 35 key sponsors and 17 local restaurants have teamed up with the non-profit organization to produce the event, to be held Saturday, August 18th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mayor Ken and Linda Moore have joined Randy Jones & Associates/Nationwide Insurance as the presenting sponsors.
Friends of Franklin Parks Executive Director Torrey Barnhill says it’s an indication of the importance our community places on bringing the Main Barn at Harlinsdale into full operational service to the community.
“The restoration of the Main Barn provided the impetus for the inaugural Raise the Roofs event by Friends of Franklin Parks, when the roof was in danger of caving in. Since then, we’ve worked with the City and a host of partners to support that project while also collaborating on a multitude of other park initiatives for the community’s benefit,” Barnhill said. “We’re so close to having the barn fully open, and this event will be focused on getting that initiative completed.”
The evening will kick off with an interscholastic polo match and cocktail hour in the Arena, then transition to the main event that includes great food, drinks, and a silent auction in the lawn adjacent to the Main Barn. The evening will then culminate with an “after party” and concert at the adjacent worker’s cottages on the Shady Grove stage.
Participating purveyors and restaurants include Catering and Events by Suzette, Chuy’s, Circa, Elliston Place Soda Shop, Franklin Chop House, Granite City Brewery, Jim ‘N Nick’s Community BBQ, Juice Bar Franklin, MafiaOza’s, Moonshine Gypsy’s Catering, Papa C’s Pies & Bakery, Padrino’s Pops, Popcorn Village, Publix, Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant, Scout’s Pub, Taziki’s and Triple Crown Bakery. Lipman is providing beer, wine and cocktails for the event.
A limited number of tickets are still available online for $125 per person, and all proceeds benefit Friends of Franklin Parks and the organization’s efforts to continually enhance and connect the City’s incredible park system.
