Previous Volunteer Days

International Day of Action for Rivers Volunteer Clean-up

March 14, 2023

Our first volunteer opportunity of 2023 Friends of Franklin Parks and the City of Franklin Parks Department will host several volunteers at Bicentennial Park in Franklin for invasive vine removal. This opportunity is on International Day of Action for Rivers, a day dedicated to saving, celebrating and creating awareness about the importance of rivers. Volunteers are able to clear invasive vines from trees lining the Harpeth River. This effort enhances the ecosystem of the Harpeth River by preventing the suffocated trees from falling into the river which causes bank erosion and reduced water flow.

Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee Spring Break Outing

March 16, 2023

Friends of Franklin Parks hosted Boys and Girls Club Day at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm. Boyle Investment Group brought a great group of volunteers to engage with the kids. The City of Franklin Parks went Fishing on the Farm with the kids and The City of Franklin Stormwater taught the kids about the Harpeth River. We had a great day enjoying the outdoors and getting to meet Silent Run Farm’s horses! The kids were able to experience some things they had never done before. Tennessee Equine Hospital sponsored lunch for the kids, volunteers and staff. We look forward to doing it again next year!
