May I bring in my own caterer? 

Yes. All caterers or restaurants must be licensed and insured and hold an ABC license if you are going to serve alcohol. Our kitchen has a double oven and a catering fridge for the caterers use. 

What vendors may I use? 

We have created a list of suggested vendors to ease with planning, but you are welcome to use any licensed and insured vendor you wish. 

Is insurance required? 

Renter is required to have a $1M liability policy and copies of any Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be provided to us 30 days prior to your event. 

Do you provide rentals like tables and chairs? 

Renters are responsible for bringing in their own rental items. Please refer to our list of suggested vendors.  

Are bands/DJs allowed? 

Yes. They may be inside the house, on the porch or lawn or in the side barn. Music must conclude by 11pm due to local ordinances. 

May tents be set up on the lawn? 

Yes. We require a licensed, professional rental company to set up and break down all tents. 

May we get ready for our wedding at the Hayes House? 

We offer a personal dressing room for the bride and her bridesmaids. 

Where will our guests park? 

Free parking is located just outside the Hayes House in the paved parking area and on areas specified on the lawn for overflow. No cars are permitted on the Hayes House lawn, including caterers or rental companies. 

Are we required to clean up after our event? 

Renter is responsible for cleaning up all food and beverage and returning to home to its original condition. This includes trash removal to the trash bins outside the house. 

Is smoking allowed? 

No smoking is allowed anywhere on the grounds or in the house. 

Are pets allowed? 

Only service animals are allowed inside the Hayes House. Leashed animals are permitted outside.   

Do you have a sound system? 

We have a Bose speaker with microphone available for your use.   

Are decorations allowed? 

All decorations must be freestanding inside the home. No nails, tape, tacks or other fasteners may be used. No confetti, glitter, rice, fireworks, birdseeds are permitted. Fireworks or candles are not permitted.
