Benefiting the Fund for the Preservation of Open Spaces

Franklin is a great place to live and raise a family, but with that desirability comes the inevitable pressure to grow. It’s never been more important to preserve public open spaces for future generations. In 2023, Friends of Franklin Parks launched The Fund for The Preservation of Open Spaces to preserve Franklin’s natural beauty & make it available to the public. The goal of the fund is to work with land owners to preserve open spaces, connect parks & pocket parks, and acquire trail easements to allow us to connect parklands.

Honoring Julian Bibb

Raised in Alabama, Julian Bibb, III, has called Tennessee home all of his adult life. Before starting his career in law, Julian attended the University of the South, and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Julian and his wife Jayne first experienced Franklin while he was in law school. They fell in love with the town. They have planted roots here and raised a family that now includes a third generation of eight grandchildren. For decades, he has served faithfully the Franklin and Williamson County communities, as well as, the State of Tennessee. Using his time and talents generously, Julian has worked with many nonprofits to improve the quality of life, protect the legacy of open space and support the park system which is an equalizer for those of all walks of life.

Julian has been a vital part of the public park landscape in Franklin leading the creation of what is now Harlinsdale Park beginning in 1999. We look forward to honoring Julian for his continued service to Franklin.
